ALAMINOS CITY, Philippines – A P500,000 reward is being offered for the arrest of a 38-year-old man who gunned down three teenagers here last May 14.
Superintendent Rollie Saltat, city police chief, told The STAR that the city government led by Mayor Hernani Braganza has put up a P400,000 bounty while the family of one of the victims raised an additional P100,000 for the arrest of the suspect, Haron Mansongayan.
Mansongayan, a resident of Barangay Bisocol here, is facing murder charges for the gunslaying of Sonny Boy Asia, 19; John David Almanzor, 14; and Wilcyn Palecpec, 19, all from the same barangay.
Mansongayan went on a shooting spree using a .45-caliber pistol last May 14 while the three teenagers were in front of a sari-sari store. He went into hiding after the incident.
Saltat said wanted posters of Mansongayan have been pasted on all waiting sheds and in conspicuous public places around the city.
The city government has also aired radio announcements to ensure Mansongayan’s immediate arrest.
Saltat said police have also filed two more murder cases against Mansongayan for the gunslaying of a certain Ruben Radovan, 31, last March 8 in Barangay Amandiego, and of Jaime Pulido, 52, in Barangay Pocal-pocal on March 9.
Police in neighboring Mabini town are also set to file charges against Mansongayan in connection with two other killings, Saltat said.
