La Union cop chief accused of raping detainee

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines  – The chief of police of Pugo town in La Union was suspended for allegedly raping a woman detained for drug trafficking.

Region 1 police director Chief Superintendent Franklin Bucayo said he placed Senior Inspector Jessie Quisada under six months preventive suspension while his case is being investigated by the Women’s and Children’s Protection Desk of the La Union police.

Bucayo said Quisada allegedly took advantage of his position in exacting sexual favors from the detainee. He did not disclose the name of the detainee.
