3 more police chiefs sacked over gambling
MANILA, Philippines - Three more police chiefs, this time in Laguna and Pangasinan, have been removed from their posts due to their alleged failure to stop illegal gambling in their respective turfs, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said yesterday.
DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo identified the three as Chief Inspector Joseph Calonge Laureta, of Alaminos, Laguna; Senior Inspector Allan Joy Medina Suratos, of Alcala, Pangasinan; and Senior Inspector Roger Manuel Digmayo, of Santo Tomas, also in Pangasinan.
Seven other local police chiefs had earlier been sacked as part of the intensified drive against illegal gambling.
