4.3 magnitude quake jolts Batanes

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines  –The island province of Batanes was stunned by a 4.3 magnitude quake Sunday. 

There was no reported injury or damage to property due to the quake, which occurred around 5:30 p.m.

Reports said the tremor, which was tectonic in origin had a seven kilometer depth. Its epicenter was located about 76 km southwest of Sabtang island, one of Batanes’ six towns, and the nearest to mainland Luzon.
