CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Local officials are offering P300,000 reward for any information that will lead to the arrest of the two remaining perpetrators of last Wednesday’s ambush-killing of third district provincial board member Reynaldo Paras and his security aide-driver in San Pablo City.
San Pablo City Mayor Vicente Amante contributed P100,000, while Laguna Gov. Jeorge “ER” Ejercito Estregan put in P200,000 for the reward.
Chief Superintendent James Melad, Calabarzon police director, has formed Task Force Paras led by Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz, Laguna police director, to investigate the killing of Paras, 55, and his aide, Giovanni Dumaraos.
The suspected gunman, Eugene Bacoto, 25, was wounded in the ambush and died yesterday morning at the provincial hospital in San Pablo City.
Police earlier had filed charges against Bacoto, Ricky Valdez alias Avatar, and a certain Boknoy.
