MALOLOS CITY, Philippines – Bulacan policemen are awaiting the issuance of a warrant for the arrest of an Army Scout Ranger tagged as key suspect in a massacre in San Jose del Monte City last week.
This developed as Pfc. Maximo Pasking gave himself up to the Scout Ranger commandant in Manila.
Superintendent Marcos Rivero, San Jose del Monte City police chief, said he was informed by the Army Scout Ranger that they have Pasking under their custody.
“We are just waiting for the issuance of the warrant for his arrest and we are ready to pick him up,” Rivero said.
Earlier, the San Jose del Monte City police filed double murder charges and two counts of frustrated murder against Pasking, a member of the 12th Scout Ranger Company based in Basilan.
Pasking allegedly shot dead Vicente and Morena Sinugbuan, and wounded 17-year-old Jennifer Horario and Morena’s 67-year-old mother Melania Cuevas. Two others survived the attack.
Police said Pasking was drunk when he ran amuck and shot the victims last Tuesday.
The shooting stemmed from the soldier’s insistence to get payment for the .45-caliber handgun he had sold to Morena’s brother-in-law identified only as RB.
