15 trafficking victims rescued

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Police rescued at least 15 women, including a minor, who were victims of human trafficking, in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi last week, authorities said.
Senior Superintendent Rodelio Jocson, Tawi-Tawi police director, said eight women were initially rescued last Wednesday from a safehouse in Bongao town. Information provided by the victims led the rescue of seven others, including a minor.
Jocson said the victims came from Zamboanga City and as far as Bohol and Pampanga.
