Quakes hit Aurora, Mindoro

MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 4.2 earthquake rocked Aurora province yesterday but did not cause damage or injury, state seismologists said.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded the tremor at around 8:04 a.m. with its epicenter traced 35 kilometers southeast of Dingalan, Aurora.

It was slightly felt at Intensity 2 in Baler, Aurora.

Meanwhile, Phivolcs said a magnitude 2.2 quake also hit Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro yesterday.

The tremor occurred at around 3:34 a.m. and was centered 37 kms northwest of Mamburao. The quake, however, was not felt, Phivolcs said.
