MANILA, Philippines - The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has warned the public not to consume shellfish taken from Matarinao Bay in Eastern Samar as tests showed that they were contaminated with the red tide toxin.
In a bulletin, BFAR also said shellfish harvested from Dumanquillas Bay in Zamboanga del Sur, Murcielagos Bay in Zamboanga del Norte and Misamis Occidental, and the Bataan coastal waters are still positive for paralytic shellfish poison beyond the regulatory limit.
