5 farmers struck by lightning in Quezon

SARIAYA, Quezon, Philippines  – Five farmers were struck by lightning amid heavy rain in Barangay Manggalang Sunday morning, which left at least one dead.

Senior Police Officer 1 Noriel Banag and Police Officer 2 Daniel Hernandez identified the five farmers as Primo de Castro, 48; Gregorio Macatangay, 28; Ariel de Castro, 26; Aldrich Manigbas, 30; and Marlon Baldovino.

Ariel was declared dead on arrival at the Candelaria United Doctors Hospital while Manigbas and Primo remain confined there. Baldovino and Macatangay refused to be brought to the hospital.
