Pilot killed in crash

-

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – A 37-year-old pilot was killed when the light plane he used in spraying pesticides on a banana plantation crashed in Tagum City, Davao del Norte Saturday morning.

Authorities said Steve Pacaldo, a pilot of the Sumifru Airtrack Agency, was declared dead on arrival at the Bishop Reagan Hospital, also in Tagum City.

Investigators suspect that mechanical trouble could have caused the crash.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines is set to send a team to investigate the incident.
