2 Batangas men killed in ambush

Batangas, Philippines  – Two men, including a bodyguard of a former town councilor, were killed in an ambush along the highway in Ibaan town Wednesday afternoon, police said. 

Police said the victims, Dennis Encinarez, 32, and Lems Papio, 31, a bodyguard of former councilor Francisco Favito, were on their way home onboard a tricycle when they were waylaid at around 5:42 p.m. Wednesday. Both died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds from .45 and 9-mm caliber pistols. – Arnell Ozaeta, Ed Amoroso
