2 girls drown in Isabela dam
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Two girls drowned while bathing with several friends in a dam in Isabela on Thursday.
Reports identified the victims as Angelica Guillermo, 14, and Martilda Bangayan, 12, both residents of Barangay Poblacion in Sta. Maria town. The bodies of the victims were recovered in Puraw Dalag village after a few hours.
Two cases of drowning were also reported in Cagayan on Wednesday. The victims were identified as Vincent Agustin, eight, and Jesus Adviente, 37, of Alcala town’s Baybay village.
Agustin drowned in Cagayan River after being carried away by the strong current while having a picnic with relatives. Adviente, meanwhile, reportedly tried to impress his son by diving into a deep section of the Pared River.
