ROSALES, Pangasinan Philippines – Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales led the opening of the regional office of the Ombudsman here yesterday.
Morales’ predecessor, Merceditas Gutierrez, former Pangasinan sixth district congressman Conrad Estrella and Quirino Gov. Junee Cua were among those who attended the ceremony.
Morales said the opening of the satellite office will speed up the disposition of cases in Pangasinan.
“This satellite office should embolden people in nearby provinces to come here and lodge their complaints,” she added.
Morales lauded the cooperation of Pangasinenses in the construction of the building even as she expressed optimism that they will pursue other projects to eradicate graft and corruption.
The Pangasinan satellite office will serve Regions 1, 2, 3 and the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
The Office of the Ombudsman now has four regional offices nationwide – one in Laguna, one in Iloilo and another in Cagayan de Oro.
