MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) yesterday continued to record aftershocks in Negros Oriental nearly two months after a magnitude 6.9 earthquake hit the province, leaving over 50 people dead.
Phivolcs said the latest aftershock, with a magnitude of 3.8, occurred at around 3:21 a.m. yesterday and was centered some six kilometers northwest of La Libertad town. The tremor was felt at Intensity 3 in Tayasan town, it said.
La Libertad and Tayasan were two of the hardest-hit areas by the magnitude 6.9 quake last Feb. 6.
