COTABATO CITY, Philippines - – Unidentified gunmen shot dead the police escort of a senior regional treasury official of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) here Monday night.
PO3 Salippudin Haron, 43, was detailed as bodyguard of Saad Sambutuan, ARMM’s deputy regional treasurer.
Senior Superintendent Danny Reyes, director of the Cotabato City police, told reporters that Haron was riding a motorcycle along Sinsuat Avenue, when two men riding another motorbike shot Haron with an M-16 rifle.
