VIGAN CITY, Philippines – Tragedy marred the regional conference of the Knights of Rizal here Saturday when a speeding vehicle hit one of its local leaders while on his way home from the assembly, police said.

Teodelio Salvador, 48, an officer of the Knights’ Caoayan chapter and eldest son of former Ilocos Sur board member Teodoro Salvador, had just come from the regional conference attended by construction magnate Reghis Romero, Knights supreme commander, when he met the accident.
