2 robbers killed in Cavite

Cavite  ,Philippines – Two unidentified men believed to be members of a robbery gang were killed while a policeman was wounded in an encounter in Dasmariñas City yesterday morning.

Senior Superintendent John Bulalacao, Cavite police director, identified the wounded police as PO1 Richmond Anico, a member of the Cavite-Philippine National Police (PNP) intelligence office.

A police report said the two suspected robbers entered Hotel de Glorias in Barangay Langcaan 1 in Dasmariñas City around 4 a.m.

Bulalacao said the hotel guard sought the help of policemen when he noticed that the suspects were carrying short firearms and packing tapes.

A 15-minute gunfight ensued as the suspects fired on the responding policemen lawmen led by Superintendent Romeo Baleros and Chief Inspector Gil Torralba.

Anico was shot in the chest and brought to the Asian Medic Hospital in Dasmariñas City for treatment.
