PCG fails to find sunken Vietnamese ship

- Artemio Dumlao -

BAGUIO CITY ,Philippines  – Efforts by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to find a Vietnamese cargo vessel, which sunk off Batanes on Christmas Day have remained futile.

PCG Northern Luzon district commander George Ursabia said bad weather prevented a PCG plane from conducting an aerial search where the ship could have sunk.

Vietnamese authorities said Vinales Queen was on its way to China from Indonesia when it encountered a problem.

The cargo vessel, owned by Vietnam National Shipping Lines, was carrying more than 54,000 tons of nickel ore.
