- Ed Amoroso -

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A rookie policeman was arrested by his fellow law enforcers on Monday morning after he robbed a money transfer outlet in Biñan town, authorities said.

Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz, Laguna police director, said PO1 Emerson Macaraig, 32, assigned at the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit, posed as a customer at the money transfer outlet along the national highway in Barangay Canlalay and upon reaching the teller, allegedly declared the heist, brandishing a caliber .45 pistol.

Macaraig allegedly grabbed the bag containing P10,000 cash of one of the customers, a certain Yves Naling, and then fled onboard a Mitsubishi Lance toward the town proper.
