DAVAO CITY ,Philippines – The warden of the Davao City Rehabilitation Center was relieved yesterday after an inmate escaped earlier this week and has remained at large.
Jail Chief Inspector Kenny Ronquillo was ordered relieved by higher officials of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology after inmate Ferdinand Flores bolted the Davao City jail.
Ronquillo is reportedly also facing administrative charges over the incident.
Replacing Ronquillo in a simple turnover ceremony yesterday was Jail Inspector Grace Taqulin, formerly the warden of the female inmates’ dormitory.
Ronquillo called on Flores to yield to authorities so that his years in detention will not be increased.
