MANILA, Philippines - Agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) on Friday arrested seven suspected guns-for-hire in Rizal and Batangas.
CIDG director Samuel Pagdilao said agents led by Chief Inspector Rey Magdaluyo arrested six alleged members of the notorious Bermejo gun-for-hire syndicate at around 5 a.m. at the boundary of Antipolo City and Baras town.
Pagdilao identified the suspects all surnamed Bermejo as Christopher, 22; Lito, 30; Prisco, 67; Rene, 23, and Leoncio.
Pagdilao said the suspects were arrested by virtue of arrest warrants issued by a Catanduanes court for the murder of Nestor Eustaquio in Caramoran town in August last year.
Meanwhile, in Batangas, agents of the CIDG led by Chief Insp. Jay Agcaoili arrested Randy Carandang, 36, at the Zigzag Hotel in Barangay Ibabaw, Cuenca town. Carandang is listed as the eighth most wanted person in Batangas.
