Agusan village chief shot dead

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – A barangay chairman, reportedly a local Liberal Party organizer, was shot dead in front of his wife and son along the national road in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur Tuesday noon, a belated police report said.

The victim, Rogelio Estodillo, chairman of Barangay Katipunan in Bayugan City, was onboard a pick-up together with his wife Flordeliza and son Felden when armed men flagged down his vehicle.

The gunmen told Estodillo and his son to disembark while they divested his wife of P20,000 in cash. They then shot Estodillo several times and fled.
