BALUNGAO, Pangasinan ,Philippines – Three 14-year-old high school students were killed, while another escaped unhurt in an ambush by unidentified suspects while on their way home after attending a wake Friday night in Barangay San Raymundo here.
Police Inspector Rodolfo Olinda, deputy police chief, yesterday told The STAR that the victims were identified as Paul Bryan Villapa, Bryan Luna and Mike Sapili, all residents of Barangay San Miguel here and third year students at Balungao National High School.
He said RJ Sobrevilla, also a 14-year-old, was unhurt.
Olinda said the victims were walking on their way home around 11:30 p.m. when the suspects shot them several times.
Olinda said the victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The police recovered 20 empty shells of M-16, one empty shell of M-14 and three empty shells of carbine at the crime scene.
Police said they received a telephone call from a concerned citizen about the incident but no witness has surfaced.
Olinda said they are still establishing the motive of the killing. He said the victims’ relatives are not aware of any enemies of the slain teenagers.
