BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – Hot logs worth about P1.2 million and a truck allegedly owned by certain local politicians were apprehended on Tuesday by operatives of a Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) task force at a quarrying site in Manay, Davao Oriental, a report said.
In a statement, DENR-Caraga public information officer Eric Gallego said the operation was in line with Executive Order 23 declaring a moratorium on the cutting and harvesting of timber in natural and residual forests.
