Fire hits old Tacloban airport

MANILA, Philippines - Grounded electrical wires were said to have caused a fire that broke out at the arrival area of the old Tacloban airport yesterday morning.

Retired Air Force colonel Ramon Gutierrez, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines director general, said the fire started at the ceiling of the airport’s arrival area at around 3 a.m. but was placed under control after 16 minutes.
