Pangasinan seals pact with DAP

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines – Gov. Amado Espino Jr. signed here on Monday a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), signaling the launch of a quality management system certifiable by the International Standard Organization (ISO) 9001:2008 for the province’s hospital and public health services.

Espino cited the DAP for helping the provincial government implement the ISO-certified quality management system.

“This is a timely act because we are at the stage now that we should be modernized in managing our records, transparency, accountability, and the proper management of our resources, money and personnel,” he said.

For his part, DAP president Antonio Kalaw Jr. said the MOA signing was designed to improve the productivity and effectiveness of local systems, as well as to “elicit stronger commitment of the employees toward providing a better quality of life for the people.”

After the signing rites, the governor presided over the turnover of six ambulances and some 130 sets of medical and surgical equipment to various hospitals and local government units in the province.
