Mountaineer's body found in Rodriguez, Rizal

MANILA, Philippines - The decomposing body of mountaineer Adrian Alba, 25, a fourth year college student, and resident of Makati City, was found between two big boulders at a river in Rodriguez, Rizal yesterday.

Members of the Rodriguez rescue team, local police and Coast Guard divers in Sitio Wawa, Barangay San Rafael recovered Alba’s body at about 6 a.m.

Alba and 24 other members of a mountaineering team were crossing the Wawa River along Sitio Kayrupa also in Barangay San Rafael when strong currents carried him away, four days ago.

Initial police reports showed that the victim and his companions asked permission from the local tourism office and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to take a view of the Wawa Dam.
