- Ric Sapnu, -

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – At least 14 families in a village in Olongapo City were told to move to safer places after boulders struck their houses, killing a woman and her daughter, last Tuesday.

In a report here, Senior Superintendent Christopher Tambungan, officer-in-charge of the Olongapo City police, said Mayor James Gordon has ordered the forced evacuation in Barangay Sta. Rita.

Tambungan said the boulders, which cascaded down from Mt. Balimbuyo, killed Erlinda Macapal, 51, and her daughter Marilyn and caused injuries to seven others, including two children.

He said the affected families are temporary housed at the barangay hall.
