CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A 45-year-old female owner of a restaurant-bar in Trece Martires, Cavite was found dead after two of four male customers held for failing to pay their bill seized her last Sunday, police said.
Senior Superintendent John Bulalacao, Cavite police director, identified the victim as Cristina Viaje Perido, a resident of Indang, Cavite and owner of Nishas Catering and Resto Bar.
Police were able to arrest the four suspects identified as Domingo Mendez, 50; Felix Barbon, 48; Jay Barbon; and Dennis Montimon, 21, all construction workers and residents of Dasmariñas, Cavite.
Superintendent Reynaldo Galam, Trece Martires police chief, said Perido sought police help against the four suspects who failed to pay their P510 bill at her resto-bar. Police responded and arrested the four.
On the way to the police station, the responding cops, the suspects and Perido boarded two tricycles. But Montimon, who drove one of the tricycles, steered away from the convoy, along with Jay Barbon, Perido and civilian security unit member Danny Nieva.
Nieva tried to grab the wheels from Montimon but he was thrown off the tricycle. At around 11:30 p.m., police found Perido dead with a fractured skull along the road.
All four suspects were later arrested.
