Pangasinan jail warden, 8 guards suspended
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines – Gov. Amado Espino Jr. has suspended the deputy warden of the provincial jail for three months while eight jail guards were meted one-month suspension for neglect of duty for the escape of four inmates this year.
Espino, in an order dated Aug. 1, held retired Col. Rogelio Paglingayen, the provincial jail warden, administratively liable for the escape of inmate Marlon Moreno last Jan. 25 and suspended him for three months.
But since Paglingayen already served his 60-day preventive suspension, he would just serve the remaining one month, according to Espino’s order.
In a separate administrative case, jail guards Sergio Ferrer, Danilo Colis, Alejandro Castro, Conrado Gatchalian, Sergio Tamondong and Antonio Corpuz were suspended for one month without pay and disqualified for promotion for the current period for the escape of inmates Cristituto Alfeche, Emmanuel Enriquez and Isagani Lomibao last Jan. 7.
In another administrative case, Espino suspended for one month without pay and disqualified for promotion for the current period two more jail guards – Vincent Arcelona and Reynante Cabic – also for Moreno’s escape last Jan. 25.
