Feedmill cashier held for P1.6-million theft

-

BATANGAS CITY, Philippines – A 34-year-old female cashier was arrested for allegedly stealing more than P1.6 million from a feedmill company she was working for here Friday morning, police said.

Senior Superintendent Rosauro Acio identified the suspect as Alicia Comia, cashier of the Soro-Soro Ibaba Development Cooperative (SIDC) Feedmills.

Police said SIDC manager Lucillo Plata turned over Comia after discovering that the latter allegedly stole P1,656,149.43 from her collections.

In a phone interview, SIDC general manager Rico Geron said auditors found out that Comia was resorting to “overlapping” or covering up her shortages with the new collections.
