Ex-cop in Indian trader's slay falls
ILAGAN, Isabela, Philippines – Police announced yesterday the arrest of a former law enforcer implicated in the kidnapping and murder of an Indian national here in September last year.
Police operatives dispatched by Senior Superintendent Jimmy Rivera, Isabela police director, nabbed PO2 Jerald Tamani in his hideout in Barangay Aniag, Angadanan town Saturday night.
Tamani, who went absent without official leave in January 2009, is one of those charged in the kidnap-slay of Indian businessman Subash Chader on Sept. 23 last year in Barangay Bliss here, Rivera said.
Tamani was held by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Bonifacio Ong last Dec. 13.
Rivera said Tamani was a former member of the Regional Mobile Group.
