Toddler killed in Tacurong blast

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao ,Philippines  – A four year-old child was killed in a bomb explosion in a roadside village about 30 kilometers from here yesterday.

The child, identified as Nulpok Bagung, of Barangay Makir in Datu Odin town, was killed on the spot.

Inspector Lendsy Sinsuat, Datu Odin municipal police chief, said two men riding a motorcycle in tandem left the improvised explosive device, fashioned from a live 81 MM mortar round rigged with a battery-operated blasting mechanism, in front of the house where the victim’s family reside and hurriedly left.

Sinsuat said investigators are still trying to determine the identities of the bombers and the motive for the attack.
