Vatican appoints 3 bishops

MANILA, Philippines - Pope Benedict XVI named on Wednesday three Filipino bishops, one of whom would be regarded as the youngest active Filipino bishop. 

According to the CBCPNews, the official news service provider of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, said Pope Benedict XVI appointed Msgr. David William Valencia Antonio, 47, as auxiliary of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia; Laoag Bishop Sergio Utleg as the archbishop of Tuguegarao, succeeding 78-year-old Archbishop Diosdado Talamayan; and Msgr. Jose Bantolo as the new bishop of Masbate.
