BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya – The Regional Development Council (RDC) for Cagayan Valley has endorsed the establishment of a multimillion-peso drug rehabilitation center to further combat the drug menace in the region.
The National Economic and Development Authority’s (NEDA) regional office, also the RDC secretariat, proposed that the drug rehabilitation center be put up in Ilagan, the capital town of Isabela.
“The drug rehab center will also serve as a mechanism to re-integrate drug dependents into the society through sustainable programs of treatment and rehabilitation,” Chief Superintendent Francisco Villaroman, Cagayan Valley police director said.
Quirino Gov. Junie Cua meanwhile said the RDC and the regional peace and order council (RPOC) which he both chairs, would conduct a drug summit this year to strengthen collaboration among government and non-government agencies and other stakeholders in the fight against illegal drugs.
