Lightning kills 2 Albay farmers

LEGAZPI CITY ,Philippines  – Two farmers were killed while another is still being treated at a government hospital here after they were hit by lightning in a village in Libon town, Albay Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The victims were identified as farmers Julio Logronio, 35; Recto Bande, 37; and Sammy Leoncio, 25.

They were taking a rest in a hut in the middle of a rice field during a thunderstorm when they were hit by lightning.

Logronio and Bande died on the spot while Leoncio was rushed to the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital here for third-degree burns.
