Dole extends livelihood assistance

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga ,Philippines  – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) regional office here has recently provided P800,000 worth of livelihood assistance to the marginalized sector in this city.

DOLE Regional Director Leopoldo De Jesus on Friday personally handed over to Mayor Oscar Rodriguez the checks intended as livelihood assistance to identified beneficiaries under the labor agency’s Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).

Out of the total assistance, some P450,000 will be awarded to 30 ambulant vendors in the city through the DOLE’s Nego Kart (Negosyo sa Kariton) program, while an additional 30 disadvantaged workers will receive DOLE’s Kabuhayan starter kits amounting to P150,000.

The remaining P200,000 will be used for the training and production of water lily of workers from three barangays of this city.
