MANILA, Philippines - Mayon volcano in Albay continues to show signs of unrest with at least 15 volcanic earthquakes recorded around it in the past 24 hours, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said yesterday.
In an advisory, Phivolcs said one rockfall event was observed at Mayon, while a moderate emission of white steam that reached a maximum height of 400 meters above the summit crater was seen drifting west-southwest and southwest.
Phivolcs said a crater glow was observed at Intensity 2 (can be seen by the naked eye) Saturday night.
Alert level 1 is still in effect around Mayon, Phivolcs said.
