MANILA, Philippines - A police official is now in hot water after a teenage girl accused him of raping her inside the police headquarters in Pampanga.
Chief Superintendent Ed-gardo Ladao, Central Luzon police director, said they are now investigating the alleged rape case involving Inspector Armando Taruc of the Pampanga police.
Ladao told The STAR he was still waiting for the report on Taruc’s case from his superiors at the Pampanga police.
“What I understand is that Taruc has a different version of the story on the rape case. It is unfair to him if we release only the version of the girl,” said Ladao, adding his public information office would issue a statement today.
The STAR gathered that the Pampanga police director issued a memorandum on the case last May 12, saying the alleged rape happened at the Police Investigation Branch.
The memo identified Taruc as the suspect but the victim’s identity was withheld.
The memo also stated that Taruc was disarmed of his service firearm and is now under the custody of his superiors.
