Remembering the secrets of Fatima

A few months ago I received a periodical in my office with no return address, so I thought that there was no hurry in looking into this package and I opened it a few weeks later. It turned out that inside the package was a magazine entitled “The Fourth Secret of Fatima” written by Antonio Socci, a Catholic writer. This magazine caught my attention since I know that there are only three secrets of Fatima. But then upon reading it, I learned that Antonio Socci went to great lengths in trying to decipher the secrets of Fatima and eventually he realized that the Third Secret wasn’t really revealed in full. Hence, he called his magazine “The Fourth Secret of Fatima.”

It has been a long time since anyone had written about the Miracle of Fatima and as humans we are often a forgetful lot. With the world reeling from natural disasters like the earthquakes in New Zealand and Japan and the devastating tsunami that followed, plus the unrest in the Middle East with Egypt, Libya, Syria, Bahrain and Yemen, perhaps we ought to look into some kind of spiritual dimension into what’s going on with the world today.

Perhaps to refresh you, allow me to reprint the three secrets of Fatima and what Mama Mary had prophesied that was already fulfilled and what the three children, Jacinta, Francesco and Lucia, saw on that fateful July 13, 1917 at the Cova de Ira in Coimbra, Portugal as recounted by Antonio Socci.

These are the very words of Lucia: “She (Our Lady of Fatima) opened Her hands once more, as She had done during the two previous months. The rays of light seemed to penetrate the earth, and we saw as it were a sea of fire. Plunged in this fire were demons and souls in human form, like transparent burning embers, all blackened or burnished bronze, floating about in the conflagration, now raised into the air by the flames that issued from within themselves together with great clouds of smoke, now falling back on every side like sparks in huge fires without weight or equilibrium amid shrieks and groans of pain, which horrified us and made us tremble with fear.

“The demons could be distinguished by their terrifying and repellent likeness to frightful and unknown animals, black and transparent. This vision lasted by an instant. How can we ever be grateful enough to our kind heavenly Mother, who had already prepared us by promising, in the first apparition, to take us to Heaven. Otherwise, I think we would have died of fear and terror.”

Remember this happened on July 13, 1917 when World War I was just about to end, yet the vision that our Blessed Mother gave to those innocent children was an apocalyptical prophecy where all of us who turn away from God and do not repent would go in our afterlife and it is a very grim and gruesome picture. She apparently predicted the Second World War.

Here’s the Second Secret of Fatima with author Socci quoting what the Blessed Mother told the children: “You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wills to establish in the world devotion to My Immaculate Heart. If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace. The war is going to end; but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one will break out during the reign of Pius XI. When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know that this is the great sign given you by God that He is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions against the Church and the Holy Father.

“To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the Consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart, and the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays. If My requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions against the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be annihilated. In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to Me, and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world. In Portugal the dogma of Faith will always be preserved etc. Do not tell this to anybody. Francisco, yes, you may tell him.”

Let it be known that the prophesies of the Blessed Mother have come true. This second secret is proof that while all the Popes recognized the apparition in Fatima, yet none of the Popes consecrated Russia to her Immaculate Heart which is proof that there are advisers of the Popes who did not heed or obey the message of Fatima. Yet in this second secret, Mama Mary said it clearly that in the end “My Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to Me and she will be converted and a period of peace will be granted to the world.” Communism that ruled Russia since 1917 fell in 1991 because Pope John Paul II obeyed the wishes of Mama Mary and consecrated Russia into her Immaculate Heart. We are writing this piece in line with Holy Week and will reprint the Third Secret on Holy Wednesday.
