DIPOLOG CITY, Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines – A farmer in Gutalac town this province might have “maltreated” his carabao, as his neighbors believed, as he was found to have been gored to death by the animal Monday morning.
Reports reaching the police said farmer David Walojan, 33, of Barangay Mapa, failed to return home for lunch, prompting his wife to seek help to locate him.
Barangay folk eventually found Walojan slumped dead in the paddies with wounds in different parts of his body.
They also found bloodstains on the carabao’s horns, making them suspect that the animal, which Walojan had frequented whipped, was behind his death.
