Road mishap kills 2; another critical

SINDANGAN, Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines – A prominent local engineer and his businesswoman-wife were killed while their grade school daughter was seriously injured in a road mishap Monday afternoon at Barangay Tabon in Jose Dalman town, this province.

Police Superintendent Alikhan Abus Yusop, Sindangan municipal police station commander, identified the fatalities as Engineer Danny Alforque, 43, and his wife Maricel, 40. The 11-year-old daughter, Danica, suffered multiple injuries and was given by attending physicians a 50-50 chance to survive.

Alforque was pinned by the wheel while his wife, who owns Sindangan’s biggest beauty salon, suffered injuries on the head after hitting the windshield. Both died on the spot.
