Calamba traffic executive killed in ambush
LAGUNA, Philippines – The head of the Calamba City Traffic Management Office was killed in an ambush yesterday morning, police said.
Superintendent Nestor de la Cueva, Calamba police chief, said the victim, Nonie Natividad, 59, former chairman of Barangay Looc, died from multiple gunshot wounds from a caliber .45 pistol in the head and chest.
He said Natividad was on his way to city hall to attend a hearing of the city council when at least three men peppered his Izusu Crosswind with bullets at around 9:45 a.m. yesterday.
Senior Superintendent Gilbert Cruz, Laguna police director, ordered De la Cueva to form a special team to probe the killing.
