BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – After more than two years of no wage increases, Cagayan Valley’s minimum wage earners can now look forward to a P10 hike in their daily basic pay.
This, after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board, following a series of consultations with the management and labor sectors, approved such an increase through a wage order issued the other day, said Grace Ursua, the labor department’s regional director.
Ursua said the new wage order will only take effect 15 days after its publication in a national daily as required by law.
Regional workers last got a wage increase of P20 in June 2008.
