MANILA, Philippines - Sixty-two fire and jail officials will have new assignments starting today, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said.
DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo said the mass turnover for 28 fire and 34 jail officials will be held simultaneously at the main offices of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
Robredo said today’s reshuffle involves jail and fire officials at the national and regional headquarters.
He said the second part of the reshuffle would involve fire marshals and jail wardens.
Robredo said the reshuffle in the two bureaus was meant to professionalize the organizations. All officials concerned are directed to clear themselves of any money and property accountabilities.
Under Department Order 2011-33, Senior Superintendent Benito Dorigo is the new chief of the BJMP National Capital Region (NCR), while Senior Superintendent Hernan Grande is the new warden of the Quezon City Jail.
Senior Superintendent Ruel Rivera is now the warden of the Manila City Jail while Chief Superintendent Romeo Elisan is the new chief of the Directorial Staff.
Under Department Order 2011-34, Chief Superintendent Santiago Laguna is now the new director of the National Capital Region (NCR), replacing Senior Superintendent Pablito Cordeta, now director of Eastern Visayas (Region 8).
Chief Superintendent Jose Mamaril, the chief of the fire directorial staff, was transferred to the office of the BFP chief for a light duty status while waiting for his retirement.
Chief Superintendent Ariel Barayuga was transferred from Region 4-A to Region 3, replacing Senior Superintendent Maria Luisa Hadjula who was assigned to Region 7.
Chief Superintendent Nimfa Cuartel was relieved as deputy chief for administration and was named new director of Region 4-A, while Chief Superintendent Samuel Perez was transferred from Region 12 to the national headquarters replacing Cuartel.
Senior Superintendent Aloovel Ferrer, was transferred from Region 7 to Region 13 or the Caraga region.
Chief Superintendent Victoriano Remedio of Region 11 was designated as chief of the Directorate for Operations, replacing Chief Superintendent Danilo Baradi.
