CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – A businessman was shot dead by car-riding men who then fled with his brand new sports utility vehicle, just in front of his house in Arayat, Pampanga last Monday night, police said.
In a report, Senior Superintendent Petronio Retirado, Pampanga police director, said the victim, Arsenio Pangilinan, 56, had just arrived home together with his family from a party when five men on board a silver Honda Civic without a license plate appeared.
Three of the men alighted from their car and boarded Pangilinan’s vehicle. Pangilinan tried to prevent them from taking away his SUV and from harming his family, but one of the men shot him in the back. The carjackers then fled with Pangilinan’s SUV.
