BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Never get into the fight of two carabaos.
Sixty-four-year-old farmer Pedro Castillo, of Barangay Salvacion here, died on the spot while trying to calm down his own carabao against an equally raging buffalo in the adjacent farming village of Paitan last Tuesday.
Castillo, reports said, was accidentally hit on the chest by the horn of his own carabao.
The farmer was heading home after a day of farm work when his carabao crossed path with another buffalo along a narrow farm road.
Salvacion village chief Ian Valera said there had been similar “brawls” between carabaos but their owners succeeded in pacifying them, until last Tuesday’s incident.
