4 dead in Sorsogon mishap

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – Four passengers died on the spot while scores were injured when their Visayas-bound bus rammed into an acacia tree before dawn yesterday along the Maharlika Highway in Matnog, Sorsogon, police said.

Inspector Perfecto Gaban, Matnog police chief, identified the fatalities as Mylene Caldosa, 22; Jolito Boracho, 42, and his seven-year-old son Jolito Jr.; and Jonalyn Maravillas.

Gaban said Jovet Ortega, driver of PP Bus Liner, voluntarily surrendered after the mishap. – Cet Dematera, Cecille Suerte Felipe
