ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Families and relatives of a public school teacher still held captive by the Abu Sayyaf have appealed to the military to halt any rescue operation, saying this might endanger her safety.
Basilan Vice Gov. Al-Rasheed Sakalahul said the policeman-husband of captive Cecilia Sosas has asked authorities not to take the military option. Sosas was snatched last Nov. 15 along with another teacher, Marlyn Yacapin, who was rescued an hour later.
